Grappling Fight 018 - Lush v Ivy
The match started with the respect that preceded it and Lush used her now trademark tactic of staying on her feet to wear her opponent down. Ivy however wasn't standing for it and when the girls hit the mats they did so with a thud and in a flurry of action. Lush went for an early pin but didn't realise that her opponent had to be face up, so was thwarted in that respect!    As the pins started clocking up it was clear that one girl had the upper hand which thoroughly wound the other up, and this made for fireworks! Grunts of anger and frustration rang out (over the noise of the builders who were banging around next door and who must have wondered what was going on!!!). The match very much went as expected - power against attitude. Ivy using her incredible fitness levels to her advantage and not letting the 4" height differential be any hindrance whatsoever. Ivy on the other hand resorted to grabbing handfuls of hair and dishing out a performance laden with anger.
   Unfortunately part way through the fight one of the girls sustained a nasty hip injury which led to a brief pause in the fight. She gladly battled on but it proved too much in the end and the match was stopped shortly after 10-minutes on medical grounds. This left one of our valiant fighters in tears, the other one bitterly disappointed at not being able to finish the job! Although this match didn't go the full distance the injury caused was as as a result of the effort that both girls put in so nothing is lost as a result. Both girls have vowed to have a rematch when they're back on their feet!
